About Us

Gloria Dei is a Christian, family-operated foundation, founded in 2006 and funded through gifts by J. Robert and Mary S. Cade.  

We seek to follow Jesus' call to serve "the least of these" (Matthew 25:40) as we would serve Jesus himself. The foundation awards grants to Christian organizations, as well as to other organizations that promote the common good in accordance with our spiritual beliefs. 

As a guiding principle, we view human need broadly, and understand that poverty can manifest itself in different spheres, including material, relational, bodily, and spiritual. In addition, we value projects that seek to address underlying, systemic causes, and recognize that mere good intentions are not enough to affect positive outcomes.
